Roll out a REACH sponsored nutrition training program.

ACTIVITIES 

Support the athletic and social activities of the individuals on the local Special Olympics team.  This includes sponsored events for holidays and special occasions.

COMMUNITY

Collaborating with community groups to develop social programs and provide support to the organization and the community it serves.

HOUSING 

Purchase new homes to support the living needs of the developmentally disabled community.

Through our Enrichment programs, Housing and Community Center initiatives, R.E.A.C.H. West strives to provide a safe and supportive environment for our clients to continue to develop their life skills, which is vital for their confident participation in the community.

  1. Leadership program to develop

    • After adult program and program coordinators

    • Camp coordinators

    • Special Olympic coaches

    • R.E.A.C.H. West Board members

  2. Recreation program to

    • Support over 80 East Bay Buffaloes athletes who actively participate in 9 Special Olympics sports (basketball, softball, soccer, bocce, flag football, swimming, track & field, and bowling).

    • Host the Annual East Bay Buffaloes Track Invitationals, attended by 150-200 athletes from 8+ teams.

  3. Nutrition program to promote healthy eating habits, through adaptive learning and education for our clients, their parents and caregivers.

  4. Gardening program for health and therapeutic value.

  5. Social program to promote inclusion and socialization with monthly socialization activities.

  6. Partnering with Living Unlimited to identify group housing opportunities.

  7. R.E.A.C.H. West Community Center fund to conduct programs to enhance the lives of our Special Needs community.
